* Multiple Spring/Summer dates & locations. Movement Building Project
Wellstone Action, a national center of training and leadership development, is organizing movement building trainings prompted by the unprecedented mobilization of new voters during the 2008 election. The trainings are aimed at empowering change-oriented non-profit organizations with the skills they need to move a progressive issue agenda forward and integrate their policy advocacy with electoral engagement and efforts to energize the grassroots.

JULY 2009 EVENTS

* July 16-19 in Detroit, Michigan. 11th Annual Allied Media Conference
The AMC emerged out of ten years of organic relationship-building and an original emphasis on do-it-yourself media. Over the years, the conference focus has moved toward building a movement of alternative media-makers. With the shift towards allied media, the AMC has attracted an ever-expanding group of people who are interested in using participatory media as a strategy for social justice organizing.

AUGUST 2009 EVENTS

* August 2-7 in Whidbey Island, WA. Integral Education Seminar
Integral Education is a practical means of creating positive change in ourselves and the world. This seminar will bring educators of all age groups together from around the globe -- educators who are seeking the necessary vision, skills, and processes to fully serve students and the world that we inhabit. Integral education is an emerging field, propelled by people who seek to push the envelope of what education can be. The seminar will provide an inspiring environment to meet with colleagues and to network with a small but growing community that clearly understands that addressing a more complete spectrum of personal, cultural, and systemic realities at play in education is one of the most powerful ways to begin effecting the changes we hope to see in the world.

* August 13-16 in Pittsburgh, PA. Netroots Nation
Join 2000-plus politically active bloggers, organizations, and elected officials who embrace the grassroots potential of new media technologies. This year, organizers are "greening" the event by holding it at the nation's first Gold LEED-certified convention center, minimizing waste, donating leftover food, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
